Most known gold deposits held by junior or senior miners tend to be valued at 10 cents on the dollar. At 120,000 ounces this is a very small deposit. Probably way too small to justify a full fledged mine with processing plant. If there were a processing facility not too far away maybe it could make economic sense to cart the mined ore away for processing. I don't see too many established miners looking to buy a resource of this small a caliber. If it's determined to be a few times larger than current estimates or of unsually high ore grade (>3-5 gm/t) then it might make economic sense. And running diamond drills for days on end isn't cheap either. Most deposits turn out to be uneconomical.

But it is an interesting find.

"This was done before, and nothing happened from it."

That seems to always be the case around here. On the local news, they will sometimes run a story about gold mining potential in the Arrowhead of Minnesota. Sometimes other metals. Nothing ever seems to come of it as the deposits just do not make it economical. Environmental issues always play a huge role as the economic impact of tourism will probably be greater than that of any gold mining.

Perhaps Geoman will see this post and chime in...
