Anyone going to this this weekend? Looks like a Chantilly show with more National dealers (hopefully the beginning of the end of the old Ft. Washington / current King of Prussia show).

If anyone is from the area, how far is this expo center from the Valley Forge exit of the Turnpike?

I'll be in Oaks (probably Saturday)......It's not that far from the Valley Forge Exit.....just head on 422 West and go about 4-5 miles or so

I haven't been to a major card show in a long time. They're interesting of course, I don't deny that, but the last few major card shows I attended, which was sometime after the beginning of the "ebay and internet era", I found that I wasn't buying much of anything there anymore, so I figured why waste my time any longer, when I can find better deals, much better deals, on ebay and elsewhere, including the BST forum here.

I think shows are great for bringing the kids and getting them enthused about the hobby when they can see all the physical cards there, but for me I'd rather surf ebay and the internet for the cards I want.

Anyone here go? If so....is it more like Chantilly (same promoters) or the old Ft. Washington crowd?

As a regular dealer at the Chantilly shows, I was persuaded to set up at the Oaks this weekend even though I knew my inventory (unsigned NFL photos for signing purposes) was not really appropriate for this venue. I had a low bar going in but it turned out to be worse than I anticipated----attendance was AWFUL! There were plenty of big name dealers from all over the country plus the regulars from Chantilly, and most were disappointed with their sales. From the customers I spoke to, my sense was the show was poorly advertised. It didn't help either that we had a "north easterner" on Saturday. The autograph guests seem to be a flop, too. If you are a collector, the goods were there. Unfortunately, the collectors were not.

I went...got there around 11:30 on Saturday; scored free autographs from Gary Matthews and Bobby Shantz and was actually on the floor the next three hours...Probably spent about $300 in total...I'll be back in November. Hard to judge the crowd as the aisles (and the venue itself) appeared to be bigger.

I didn't make it to Oaks, but I definitely think it was poorly advertised. I ended up at KOP Mall
on Saturday to get Ruiz & Victorino autographs. Rose & Carlton were there also.
Kind of weird to have these guys signing 5 miles down the road from the big show at Oaks at the same time.
