Would you have done this trade? I lost about 3 oz in the deal

What I gave up was some generic bars (nothing brand name like JM or Engelhard) and some 90%

What I received was a boxed NGC set of Silver Eagles in MS69 1986 to 2010 (includes the 96)

Overall cost me $100 I figure (about 3 oz of silver)

I was planning on selling the bars and 90% anyhow but then saw this set. The collector in me then took over

To get something I liked better than what I had, - yeah. I'd have done it.

If you are satisfied with the deal, then it doesn't matter what others think.

I personally would have offed the generic silver as well.

You upgraded and have what you want. That's not always an apples for apples thing. As long as you're satisifed with the quality of what you got, you did ok.
Not to say I don't ask myself the same thing sometimes though.

The silver eagles all have a nice premium, which is probably even higher because they are slabbed.

The generic bars have little or no premium, and the 90% often sells at a discount to spot.

Bottom line, you may not be down as much as you think.

I also thought that should silver fall back I would not be hurt as bad as I would with generic silver.
