Declared Value when Submitting Question

I just wanted opinions of the board on when you submit and you declare a value on a card say equal to a PSA 7, do you think graders will be less likely to grade higher than that? I always wondered that. Thanks for your opinions.

decl value has absolutely no impact on the grade

Graders have no idea what you declared as a value and have no idea who the submitter is.

At least that is what we have been told.

    Good for you.
  • Yea, i agree. i dont think the graders even see that "paper work" aspect of the operation

declared value is for insurance purposes while at PSA and when shipping back to you. The higher the value the quicker the turn at PSA. Insurance companies would prefer not to have a bunch of high dollar cards lying around PSA for any length of time.

I had just thought that when I watched video of grading process the graders had paperwork. maybe I was wrong. Just was wondering if I thought card was a 7 and declared value as such if there was any influence not to grade it higher. I appreciate the comments.

They do have paperwork, but supposedly it's not your submission form.

    Good for you.
