In literature, this is know as poetic justice.image

In early January of this year, 2 local substations were shut down due to break-ins from ripping copper from them. Countless new construction homes in the area have been vandelized by copper thiefs ripping the wire and water lines out of them. Sometimes I wish, if the consequences would be waived by the owner, that you could charge the copper pipes with electricity when the job site was left for the evening. Of course someone would find a lawsuit in there somewhere, especially if some kids found their way in the carcass of a home causing mischief and accidentally peed on a water line.

If municipalities can impose 30 day holding periods on second hand jewelry bought in, why can't they impose it on scrap metal? Have the cops go down there once or twice a month and look for suspicious stuff.

The same thing happened over here except he lived. AND since he had no insurance or job, the hospital treating him had to eat the bill. Personally, I think he should have held on just a little longer

That happened around here about 15 years ago to a member of a family that was well known for being inbreds and thieves and always in and out of prison. One of them was trying to steal copper from some live line out in the country and was electrocuted. The family knew what he was out doing and when he never returned they went to the site to find him and they found his dead body on the ground. They panicked knowing the police would know he was stealing wire so they brought home the body and put it in their deep freeze for a few days while they tried to plan a way to make his death look like he wasn't committing a crime. The neighbor heard them outdoors arguing over the whole situation and called 911 to report that they had their kid in the deep freeze. Total mess.
