What's the best color to scan black cards against?

Obviously, I use black for non black cards, but what about black cards. What color shows the card's condition best?

Seriously - black show it best. You can see any flaw on a 1971 Topps card if you use a black background. I use black for everything. It is amazing how nice a really sharp 1971 Topps card looks against a black background.

I use bright blue (dark) or red,. It rreally shows well against dark borders (75's excluded - no idea on this) and also shows the true state and tone of white borders pretty darn well for some reason.

In my opinion, ANY color (even dark charcoal gray) will mask any flaw. The black show the flaws or lack thereof. Here are a some examples.

I guess the black on black makes sense. If you can't see the border then the card has a perfect edge.

I agree with the blue - i use the light blue type copy paper for the background that is used in inkjet printers.
