Any Ophthalmologists out there?

image

A Charles I half crown with mintmark Eye (1645) struck on a shilling flan of only 5.91g instead of the regulation 15g. ex Raashleigh, Farquhar, Brooker and Adams

The mintmark is specifically related to a request for help if anyone is in a position to do so.

This is a long shot but - My daughter finishes her course at a medical school (in the UK) this month and had an elective to do ophthalmology in Christchurch (NZ) immediately afterwards before taking up a permanent position in the UK over the summer. Due to the destruction in Christchurch including much of the hospital as a result of the recent earthquake, all electives have been cancelled and so she finds herself without a position which is almost impossible to fill at short notice and which is exacerbated by her having to revise for, and sit her finals.

Not doing an elective isn't an option.

Are there any medics on this forum in a position to help, or offer any leads, or any alternative solution? All feedback welcomed with open arms. Thanks in advance.

Rob

Can't help, unless she wants to work as an underpaid desk clerk at a beach hotel in Georgia. image

    Nice coin, though.
