..makes Red Zone and Yepbg auctions look like steals.

Check out this guy.

deanscards

I realize people have the right to ask whatever they want for their cards, but who in their right mind would pay $455 for a PSA 6 64' Mantle? $900+ for a PSA 7 Mantle?? Another virtual card museum store I suppose.

The prices are the highest I've ever seen for an actual dealer. If the only way you're selling a card is by taking advantage of an uneducated person then that's pretty sad. There is such a thing called ethics that many people do not have. To me $900 for a PSA 7 1964 Mantle is no different than $6000 for a PSA 8 1964 Mantle. Both prices are completely stupid and lack any reason at all. Levi is like the dollar store compared to this guy. I do not see where RED Zone is so high. They have some nice items that are not completely out of the ballpark.

Crap, he's selling a George Kell Signed ball PSA/DNA for only $300.

    That's a little high.

Using the same logic, is it your own personal ethical policy to not buy an underpriced item from an "uneducated" seller? This seller hasn't broken any rules.

Seeing so many high BINs is frustrating when you're looking to buy, but I just don't see how ethics factor in. Presumably, whoever buys any cards at those prices will have made a clear-headed decision to do so. If that happens, it's a win-win.

Let 'em collect dust and move along.

    thehallmark,
To answer your question.....in reference to buying an underpriced item compared to Deans' prices--It would have to be a PSA 8 1964 Mantle for $200. That type of thing doesn't happen; so I do not know what your point is. His prices are insane plain and simple. Don't try to make sense of it. But yes, anyone can charge what they want...it's a free nation. Like another poster said...I hope grocery stores don't adopt this approach.

The guy has terrific feedback, and he posts his phone number in the auction listing. Not only that: he doesn't subscribe to the age-old TPG cop out. He allows buyers to return graded cards for a refund!

I would hardly insinuate "unethical" when describing this seller.

To no one in particular......(not even the person I've quoted)

What makes people think that some don't?

People think the price of deli made chicken salad is the same in the South Bronx as it is in Larchmont NY?

Many retail stores have price structures depending on the area that they serve.

A toy from a well known retailer could cost 3.99 at one location and 5.99 at another.

Don't be so naive, Exxon gas stations do not sell at the same price. I've seen price differentials within a mile.

Once someone brings ethics into a conversation they appear jealous and or ignorant.

Hallmarks comparison was on point btw.

once somebody takes a flippant comment and runs down the wrong path with it, the jugglers and clowns join the fray.

it was nothing more than a passing joke Steve, a commentary, a pointless jab at current economics.

the guy can sell his cards however he pleases, we're in America bro. image

I can stand up and admit I was wrong. Bringing up "ethics" strictly based on prices in this situation would be wrong and I stand corrected. I reacted very quickly to what I consider extreme prices. I do not personally know Dean and should not have made that comment. Deans cards has a right to price the way he wants for cards. He does have some nice stuff.

I bought from him once. Card came very over graded. I refused to by from him ever again because he wouldnt make it right. That was a few years ago and I dont know how he has changed his return policy but because of that experience, I stay away. Well, his prices also make me stay away too LOL
