Question about Club Membership

Is it possible for one to sign up for club membership at a show that PSA is set up at?
If so, can one use their vouchers that same day?

Thanks,
Eric

  • Yes and yes, but you can't pay for the membership with the vouchers. You planning on coming up to White Plains in May?

EDIT: Oh, wait, now I understand the question. Forget that.... yes and yes. You pay your $189 and leave your 15 freebie submissions at the table, then they ship them back to you after they pop. I'll let you use my fedex account if you want and I'll let you know the exact shipping amount after my fedex account is charged. It will definitely be cheaper that way.

If you want to piggyback on anything I submit, that's fine too.

When I did it a few years back they took away a few vouchers because on site grading cost more.

Example: I had 12 vouchers they graded 9 or 10 cards. Not sure what the current set up is.

I'd call customer service or PM Carol for the latest policy.

    Good for you.

Not sure I fully understand your question. Did you mean to simply drop off the sub that day

and wait until they graded them at Newport Beach? Or do you mean have them graded on site?

    Good for you.
  • They don't slab cards on-site at most shows. They'll let you drop stuff off so you don't have to pay shipping to Newport Beach.

Return shipping remains the same - either expensive or use your own fedex account.

    Sorry i wasnt more clear.

i am thinking about signing up, and would like to hand in my submission at the same time to save on having to ship cards to them.

i was under the impression that they were going to be at the White Plains Show this month? perhaps i am wrong about that part.

  • No, they're busy with Philadelphia and Chicago this month. White Plains for PSA is not until May and then again in August.

SGC and JSA will be there this month.

Between gas, $7 daily show admission, and $13 round trip for that god damn bridge, you won't be saving any money. Even if you took the train, it would be a round trip LIRR ticket, two subway rides, and a round trip MetroNorth ticket. If you wanted to go to the show regardless, that's something entirely different, but I wouldn't advise it if your only reason for going is to submit stuff for grading.

  • I may go to the show one of the three days this month. If you wanted to take the train, I could save you the MetroNorth tickets. Just take the 1 all the way up 242nd Street in the Van Cortland section of the Bronx, and I'd pick you up and we'd go to White Plains from there.

Now that I look at the two websites, it seems the White Plains show in May has been moved from May 13-15 to May 20-22, which is no good, since PSA is going to be at the Tristar show in San Francisco May 20-22. We may have to wait until August for PSA to be at a show around here. This sucks.

That sucks about no PSA until AFTER The National (First week of August).

if i go to WP, i'll drive in on Friday. i like to be there when a show opens, and (as CrazyMind knows) i am NOT a morning person! LOL

  • They could send different reps to both shows. I was only speculating. The show promoter's website still says PSA will be there.
