Gem Mint 10: No punctures or holes may be present with the exception of those that are obviously required on the ticket by the management of the ballpark or event venue; such as preexisting hole punches for "Comp" or "VIP" tickets or "punches" that are required on some premium tickets for "special entry" or specific venue services.
Qualifiers: Cancelled - Any full ticket that has been hole punched, stamped, etc.

Complimentary tickets given out by the Yankees in the late 1990s were hole-punched to indicate a price of $0.00. The holes do not indicate the ticket was used for admission. Comps that were used for admission were torn and the stub handed back to the attendee just like any other ticket. This ticket was not canceled. It would have been good for admission if someone had tried to use it to get in the ballpark before the end of the game.

    Thanks guys.

If you think they use a dart board to grade cards, it's 10 times worse with tickets. If I had been planning to sell any of these, I'd have been terribly disappointed in some of the grades, but I'm basically happy with any number grade of at least 2. Well, except on the 4-signature ticket that only got a 7. I really wanted at least an 8 on that. The rest of them, I just wanted to have in slabs.

I was also pissed they wrote "walk-off" on the Vizcaino tickets. I HATE THAT!!! I put a sticker on the outside of the Card Savers that said "Game-Winning Hit," but it looks like there wasn't enough room for it on the flip. I don't see why they have to put the score of the game on there. I didn't ask for that, and if they were doing it to maintain consistency for the pop report, it ended up getting its own category anyway because of the Vizcaino notation.

I also have these signed tickets, but I'm going to put them in a frame with signed photos, so no slabs for them.

    Wells full

    Cone full

Heading to Philly to drop of some tickets today! Crazymind it looks like your Righetti ticket is a full, not a stub, I think you got short changed!

Just found this auction for some 1983 stubs.... the Righetti ticket is most definitely a full ticket.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200580926867

So now I have at least two issues to bring up, not including the Vizcaino "walk-off" nonsense.

Now this is more like it!!! No mechanical errors, at least from what I can tell so far, and some nice grades, considering how crappy the stubs actually look!

Here's my ticket from the 1999 inductions at Cooperstown -- Ryan, Brett, Yount.
    I think it's one-of-a-kind.
    Any thoughts on value?

Those are really neat. When sending in tickets, do you have to put what special event occurred in the game on the sub form? Or do they do that on their own? If you were to add something on the sub form like "first game with my dad", would they put that on the flip? (kind of like the pedigree service for cards)

I don't know if they'd put something like "my only event at Chicago Stadium" on a red flip. I imagine you'd have to be a big-time submitter to get something like that, but I really wouldn't know. That's not the type of notation I'd want on a flip anyway.

As for key events, they're not very good at transcribing the descriptions I provided. On the submission form, I was rather vague, but on the outside of each card saver or top loader, I placed a handwritten sticker with more information. It seems the information I consider pertinent is completely different than the information they routinely use on their labels.

Regarding the 2000 World Series Game 1 stubs, I called psa immediately when I got the e-mail that the 15 tickets had popped, but the shipment had already gone out. Sonia told me that as long as I had my copy of the original submission form and I could show that I wrote "Game Winning Hit" rather than "Walk-Off Hit," they'd consider it a mechanical error and they'd fix it for free.

So I looked at the submission form and all I wrote was "Subway Series Game 1." It must have been on the sticker that I wrote "Jose Vizcaino Game-Winning Hit." So I don't know if they'll fix it for free. I would drop dead a million times over before I'd ever write any reference to a "Walk-off" anything on a psa submission. Every win is a "walk off" win. Stupid modern baseball fans. I hate modern baseball. Walk offs and web gems and OPS and BABIP and so much other ridiculous nonsense that means absolutely nothing, especially the fielding stats that fail to consider that not all pitching staffs are created equal, but I digress.

Going over that submission in detail, there are issues with 5 of the 15 tickets. (1) The Billy Joel ticket lists Yankee Stadium as being in "New York, NY" instead of the Bronx. Technically, this is incorrect, even though the Bronx is part of NYC. Manhattan is formally known as "New York County," and mail addressed to "New York, NY" is either headed for the island of Manhattan or addressed wrong. If you send a letter to New York, NY 10451, it will almost always find its way to the right place, but 10451 is exclusively a Bronx zip code.

    (2) The Righetti ticket is a full ticket, not a stub. In psa's defense, I wrote a question mark in the full/stub field for this one because I wasn't 100% sure at the time of the submission, but the girls at the table (this was at the White Plains show in January) told me not to worry about it and the graders would know. I've since discovered it's a full ticket.

    (3) The Cone Perfect Game comp was hole punched, but not canceled, as explained above.

(4,5) And the two Vizcaino Game-Winning Hit tickets are just annoying. There probably wasn't room on the flip (you can see the scan by clicking the link) to write "Game-Winning Hit," but then they should have just omitted the score. I don't remember if I listed the final score on the handwritten sticker, so they may not have been totally wrong to list it, but the score is not needed to identify the event in this particular case. "2000 World Series Game 1 Stub" is more than sufficient.

This recent sub of 5 Billy Joel tickets came out much better. The notes about the 49th birthday show in Hartford and "The Night of 2000 Years" references were written on the submission form, and basically copied accurately according to what I gave them.
