Here's what I picked up this weekend; the local B&M is gonna start getting sick of me. image

Nice pickups! Hope you got them at a reasonable price.

The 1960 small date looks like it might not be a small date, but something even better! From the pic it looks more like the small date over large date variety. Tough to find and even tougher to find in cameo. Check the date carefully, if it looks like a small 6 and small 0 is overlayed over a larger 6 and larger 0, you hit the jackpot.

Then again, it could be just a nice small date.

    Very nice cameo's.... Cheers, RickO
  • The '63 Lincoln is a spectacular DCAM ... note the frosting as the background behind the pillars ... compare to your other lincolns where the background blends in with the fields... This frosting I find is required to score dcam ..

    Also, I love that '58 Washington...great strike

So you think I might have a 1960 Small over Large date huh? I put it under a loupe this morning and snapped a few quick pictures of it. I see a little something going on in the inner tail of the 6 in the date (the 3rd date photo shows it best). I realize the photos don't help much, but it's what I could do in the few minutes I had this morning.

The photos in this post is what my coin shows. Apparently the conclusion in regards to that one was NOT a Large over Small date...that's fine. I picked it for the cameo not the potential variety.

Sorry to get you so excited. The latter pics show it is indeed a small date.

But it is always wise to check proofs for varieties - I've made many thousands of dollars cherrypicking them.

In any event, still some very nice pickups. image

The 1960 cent in the photos here is a normal small date 1960 proof cent. ALL of them had that little 'extra' on the inside of the 6, and I have never received any conclusive evidence of exactly what it is...but it seems to be on all forms of 1960 small date cents.

If this were the SD/LD or the LD/SD it would be rather obvious. They aren't hard to detect at all.
