My next set???

Well, it is time to start thinking about the next set I want start after completing the 1991 Topps Desert Shield and 1990 Donruss Learning Series. I am down to 86 cards in the D/S set (only obtaining 9s or 10s) and down to 9 cards in the Learning Series (only obtaining 10s and of the cards I need only the #1 card has any 10s that I don't have; the rest have none higher or their have never been any submitted). The three sets I have narrowed it down to are the 1951 Berk Ross, 1963 Fleer, or the 1969 Nabisco set. I would appreciate any thoughts and reasons for one set over the another. I am open to other sets. Here is one of the cards I own from each set. I will try and put them together in nothing less than PSA 7.

There are 24 cards in the set. I have almost a complete raw set. The Seaver I actually cut from the box myself. It has always been one of my favorite sets.

  • The 63 fleer would be my first choice of the sets you mentioned. Good luck with which ever set you choose.!!

A couple of thoughts here: I owned the '63 Fleer set raw at one point in time, but I traded it along with two 1982 Topps Traded sets for a 1955 Bowman set. That being said, I have seriously thought about rebuilding that set. I have been following prices on ebay for the 1951 Berk Ross cards, and the PSA 8's (non-panel) are out of control and most of them are O/C and even PSA 7s are high. It would more than likely take a lot of help from board members to really think about putting that set together.
