I'd love to see good quality pictures of it.
  • 55d's sure are tough! Never made a 67 yet but hoping the one below maybe gets a 66+.

Yep, my 55 D in 66 is no longer a pop top! There is one coin graded higher.... image

Would a 66+ also qualify?? Just saying...I don't know anything.
  • I have 8 of them in for grading.
Just checked my submission, and it ain't mine. image

    It could be a 66+ and not a 67

It looks like it was a regrade in holder. The pop report shows 147 and has not been updated. Ithe registry shows 146/1.
Who recently sent in a regrade in the holder. My bet is it's an MS66+ upgraded from MS66.

5+ years ago I bought an OBW roll of 1955D quarters for the princely sum of $60.00 from a local B&M shop. The roll had two end roll toners, one with the obverse toned and one with the reverse toned. I kept the roll intact for maybe a couple of weeks and then caved into the voice inside my head that said "Open, Open, Open".

I had great hopes of finding "gem" coins in the roll.

    NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the coins have marks, dings and what looks like water spots.

I am still glad bought the roll, but now think maybe I should have just left it "as is".

At the same time I also bought a roll of MS 1958P quarters. Looking through that roll produced 34 Type B 1958P quarters. That was a nice surprise.

    POSTED ON THE REGISTRY FORUM:

I confirmed the coin is an MS66+. Looks like an upgrade per Nick's last comment. Congrats to the owner. Perhaps it is time to "dust off" a few of my coins as well.

Figures... A true 67 for the date is impossible. You would think there would have been one graded after 56 years, if there is a 67 out there.

The Price Guide could only be updated if it sells. An Estimated price should not qualify although I'm betting there are some in there.

Craig: I spoke to someone today who explained to me why the coin was not yet showing up in Coinfacts. I am quite confident I got the correct information, although I will be 100% confident when it shows up in Coinfacts.

The Population Report and CoinFacts both show 147 in MS66 and NONE higher? Maybe the 146/1 in the Registry is a typo?
