Visitor from the sportscard forum needs advice

Hi there, I am looking to sell a collection of coins inherited from my dad and would like some suggestions. I have about 32 silver dollars from 1878-1921, 9 from 1922-1928, 50 half dollars from 1961-1964, 50 quarters from1940-1964 (almost all from 1964) and 120 dimes from1939-1945. Haven't gone through the nickels or the rest of the dimes yet. The dimes are really worn but most of the other coins seem to be in pretty nice condition but not like most I see listed on eBay.
Also curious if the bicentennial coins or Susan B Anthony's have value above face value.
Wondering the best way to sell them and would appreciate your advice.
Thank you,
Joe

There are coins that bring a higher value based on year and mintmark. A look at a price guide would give you an idea if you have a potential good one. Grade plays a large part and it sounds like these are all circulated and somewhat worn.
In my opinion the bicentennial coins and the SBAs are worth face.
A good place to sell silver at melt would be the PCGS BST forum.
As for the rest, assuming usual circulated stuff.. you have $49.50 face value, should be able to sell it on the BST for the going rate of 22x face last I looked or about $1,089
On the Morgans.. figure those are about $25 each if they're just circs so that's $1,025 but do post a list of the dates and mint marks. The date's kinda self-explanatory, but the mint mark, if there is one, is under the tail of the eagle on the reverse.
The vast majority are, again, common but you might have something of value there. Look for "CC" Mintmarks in particular.
Don't clean ANYTHING!

Arm yourself with a bit of knowledge, JMHO.
You never know, there could be a key date or VAM waiting to be discovered.
EDIT: A 1928 P Peace dollar is NOT a melt coin, it's a key date, AU condition $500 ish.
Look at the date on the 1942 P&D dimes closely, you could posses a 2 over 1, never know.

Or you can be cheap like me and just go check one out of your local library.
And as for pricing, look at completed sales on ebay and here LINK.
Hope this helps,
Roger

Thanks Batman 23 will possibly list on the BST forum when my research is complete. No CC or other rare mint marks found Bill. Morgansforever the Peace dollar is (of course) an "S". Tdec1000 I think I have turned on my PM's but I am not sure.
How do you guy's get such nice photos of your coins?
I will put together a list over the weekend and post it, probably on the BST. Would rather sell the entire collection than individually on eBay, but I wont give them away, my dad is watching from above and he will probably haunt me if I don't get a good price!
Welcome!
