Anyone have any luck buying reprints of Jordan, Gretzky Rookies

On Ebay, almost all of these cards are so called "Reprints". Has any one in the last year or so bought one of these reprints only to find that after grading that they were the real thing? If so what did it grade and what helped you decide to buy the card?image

I would think you probably have better odds playing the lottery than buying a card labeled as a reprint on eBay and landing the real thing.

They are counterfeits IMO ......They are made to fool

A reprint will have a slight design change.... cropping, changed color, changed size, changed font, etc. its about how they rescreen the original image without getting print dots in the blank areas. card stock, especially on older issued is a key too.

Like the others said, you will NEVER find an authentic big $ card sold as a reprint..... Sort of like you wont see a real Porsche Spider sold as a replicar, or Gucci Purse, etc.

Ive seen hundred of R319 Ruth, T206 Cobb, etc. listed as unsure or reprint and not a single one was ever authentic.

The only time you could get "lucky" on a card advertised as a reprint is if the card is a legitimate authorized reprint (e.g., 1996 Topps Mantle reprints). Most of those are still worth less than ebay shipping costs.

Why would anyone want a reprint?

I purchased an awesome Jordan Star Rookie reprint with no stamp. It is a great looking card and for less then $10 bucks I thought it was a cool card to buy.

There is no chance I would ever consider selling this card and simply enjoy every once in a while opening the drawer it is in and checking it out.

If you sell reprints on EBAY as potentially real you are scum.
