'49s Roosie on the bay

Is this typical condition for an MS66, or just a poor pic? I am not connected in any way with this auction other than I would like to have a gem quality 49s.

Will the 55 dime ever command these prices?

Just a lot of mottled toning.

It is just a poor image. I actually know the seller very well. We have a coin club meeting every month there and I am the president. He recently went in on a deal with another dealer from the north with hundreds of Roosevelt dimes-all PCGS graded.

Forgot to say, the coin just has bleh toning, but more than likely is technically a 66.

    DIMEMAN and Rampage,

Thank you both. Any thoughts on the 55?

I really am not the one to answer that question. I don't specialize in Roosevelt dimes. I do have two MS sets in Danscos, but nothing certified any more. I sold all my certified dimes a year or so ago.

And I should add, they were nothing to write home about.

55's are pretty common and always will be. Actually all Roosies are common except for some in high grade with full bands.

comparing to 49S i have seen the coin is average strike and rather plain color. 49s come nice with killer strikes very often. I would do a WTB post on the BST. You can do much better then the example in the link. In my opinion.

    lablover,

I put it in my "watch" list. Thank you.

    SamByrd,

    I may try that, too.
