todays show report and a rather eclectic group of new additions

I will apologize for the long post and pics, but nothing else to do on a snowy day and need to put off shoveling as long as possible
Braved the snowstorm here in Southern WI and attended todays annual 1 day show in Oshkosh. This is a smaller show but always one of my favorites.
It appeared as though our snowstorm scared away about 1/3 of the dealers and the crowd was about half that of last years. This made todays show much more
enjoyable, plenty of room in the aisles, no waiting to get up to the display cases and dealers with plenty of time to talk and work trades with.
My first loop around any show is to locate bust half dollars and see if there is any other decent draped or capped bust material. Today there was absolutely no
bust halves that even slightly appealed to me. Other early federal coins were also mostly missing. What did I see a lot of? GOLD. it was everywhere, slabbed, raw, damaged, fake.
Prices were also much lower than a few months ago. Slabbed 20's in AU-MS62 ranged from 1400-1600's, tens 700-800 and 5's about 380-450. I saw very little gold selling.
Lots of silver for sale also. Dealers were selling 10 oz bars at 330 and there were a lot for a small show. 90% was selling at 23X face.
I sold some 90% at 21.7 and some silver eagles at 34 each
My purchases for the show were rather eclectic.
1) found a contemporary counterfiet half that the dealer had no idea was a fake, I have no idea how dealers like this survive with the Chinese fakes floating around.
Anyway, after I informed him it was fake he wanted to get rid of it and I was more than happy to buy it for 20 dollars
2) picked up a couple of civil tokens that appealed to me
3) 1939-D washington quarter in an old rattle MS65. I do not collect these but it was just the most amazing looking washington I had ever seen and priced right
so I took a flyer on it. I need to spend some time taking some nice pics of this coin. I grade it 66
4) 1850 2 1/2 in F. Just a fun coin for my stack
5) 1841 and 1843 no motto eagles, these are not dirty or original but for the price of a common date 10 I added them to my stack of no mottos
6) 1879 eagle in AU58, once again a cool coin for basically bullion
7) 1913 PCGS MS61 Rattle holder, just a great looking MS61 ten dollar
So all in all a great show, then I got to spend 3 hrs driving home through the snow (should have been 45 minutes)

That 1841 $10 gold piece is a fake - I will give you $20 for it...
Nice group of new additions. Hopefully the warm glow of the gold will melt off the sidewalk...
