Went to the L. A. Paper Money & Coin Show today and came back with a small piece of toned gold..

Nice little show at the Holiday Inn by Los Angeles Airport today.
Found this nice little piece of toned gold in a PCGS holder
A few scratches on the holder.
Sorry, the image is a little blurry but the 1926 $2.50 Sesquicentennial is the size of a dime!

<< <i>That is sweet-looking. I wonder what causes those reds and purples. >>
As I understand it is the way the alloys were mixed in the gold and the copper
is what you see in the red color.
If I am wrong someone please correct me.

You are correct. There is 10% copper alloy. Very nice coin. What's the grade?
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

<< <i>Really neat and attractive coin. Sometimes the grade is of secondary importance. >>
Thanks, I rarely buy gold because, frankly they all start looking the same.....IMO....
But this one has luster enough for 2 coins and the copper color toning makes it unusual which
makes me want to buy it right away. I then looked at the grade, but in this case is so beautiful
grade was not important.
