James, Great pickup! Thats a pretty tough card in that grade. Seeing that scan, I wish I would have picked it up from Tiff when I had the chance. Congratulations!

    Matt,

Thanks for the kind words. I met Musial when he was doing a USO visit at one of the bases I was stationed at. Really nice man. I have been keeping up on his health status as I have heard that he, along with Killebrew and Banks, are not in the best of health anymore.

Musial was in Washington DC this week to recieve the Medal of Freedom (highest award a civilian can be given) from Obama. He and Bill Russell both recieved the award. Musial looked terrible. He wasnt even able to get out of his chair to accept the award. Obama went to him and put the medal around his neck. I fear that we are going to lose one of the all-time greats sometime soon.

  • Sadly when he does pass on, people will start to realize just how great of a man and a baseball player he was...
  • Nice card.

I remember the day I bought that one.
Picked it up at a local card store back in 1990.
I purchased three 1951 raw Berk Ross Stan Musial, Whitey Ford, and Yogi Berra along with a Bird/Magic rookie.

I had them graded at the National in Baltimore.

    Time goes so quick.

Hope you enjoy the card as much as I have

    Thanks again,

    Tiff

    Tiff,

Once again, thanks for giving me the opportunity of purchasing this great card. I am thoroughly enjoying it; as is my son who wants to know all about Stan the Man.

Love the card and the colors. Don't know Berk Ross cards at all and was wondering what does #2-1 mean on the flip? Doug

The cards were originally in panels 2-1 and 2-3, 2-2 and 2-4 for example. Many times you can find the panels and they carry a higher premium.

Matt, posted Musial was in DC to receive the Medal of Freedom and he didn't look like he was in too good of health. I have a couple of odd ball items of Musial. One of the nicest HOFers I ever have the chance to meet.
