Latos has a special place in the hearts of Giants fans for:
1) vandalizing Giants broadcaster Dave Flemming's car (he was heckling fans in the bleachers, then, pretending to throw a ball at the fans, threw the ball over the bleachers, and into the VIP parking area)
2) criticizing the SF Giants publicly for improving the team mid-season with trades and free-agency
3) being the loser in the game when the Giants clinched the West

That's ok. The Giants have a ring, Latos and the Padres have and will continue to have nothing.

I had a ball watching the City go nuts the night we won, almost cried when we won. Go Giants!

That's what I heard. He also currently does play-by-play for Stanford football too.

Flem does a terrific job on college basketball, too. He's one of the best in the country, I do believe! He's been doing a lot of ESPN and CSN games out West. He should bag the Giants and go national with basketball!
