Do you agree EBAY seller retouched photo
or at least used photos that hid a problem. Recently purchased a Morgan 1895 - O in NGC VF 25 with BIN option.
As seller had 3 close up photos, I thought I was getting a no problem coin. I get coin and there is a big scratch from under
Liberty's eye to the end of the leaf - you didn't need a loupe to see it. Seller had no mention of scratch in description and
also a no refund policy. I left Neutral feedback stating none of the photos had any appearance of a big scratch. Seller responds
that I need glasses and will be blocked, like I'm the bad guy.
What do you think. First 2 photos from seller .

<< <i>It could be the angle he snapped the photos. I'd be more concerned about the "L" in the cheek! >>

CJ: 'No one!' [Ain't no angels in the coin biz]
Maybe market acceptable, but I would not have bid if disclosed in the photos.
No.
<< <i>the image did not represent the coin you received. I would do a pay pal claim on that basis. There is no mention of the large long distracting scratch that will lower the value of the coin in the market place. I can not see any sign of the scratch in the image. I think the angle and lighting hid the scratch.
I would have been more concerned with the "L" shape on Liberty's cheek though in my opinion.
Even with a no return policy, IMHO, the seller has an obligation to provide an accurate photo and/or description which he hasn't done.
I also think you were a bit premature leaving feedback.

And no I do not think his photos were retouched. Oh and in your second photo it is very hard to see even after you had said were it was.
I don't want to be the one stuck with finding the next sucker to buy. Will move on. Thanks for listening and advice. I may need to pay more attention to big hits on Liberty's check also.

<< <i>I think the 'issue' needs the mention of NGC as well!
A scratch like that, in that area, deserves a "VF Details, Scratched", 'grade', IMO, NOT a regular cert tag.
They helped the guy sell a problem coin as a problem-free coin, IMO. >>
I bought a Lincoln once, with a scratch that was not evident from the DLRC photos. A 1917 MS66RD. Because it had extraordinary color and surfaces, save the scratch, I decided to keep it. But over time it ate at me.
I finally sent it back to PCGS. They took care of me through their guarantee, which made everything okay. But the coin was regraded a 65+, which surprised me.
Point is, a scratch like that can be overcome by market grading and does not necessarily require a BB.
Tastes are different. If you don't like it you should act soon.

<< <i> no refund policy >>
No such thing when using Paypal. If you don't like it, guess what? You get your money back and the sellers Paypal account is debited - shipping cost and all.

they do not show that scratch. Yes, it should have been mentioned but it is an NGC graded
coin. Your problem should likely be with NGC but it does appear that the scratch was taken
into account in the grade. Looks VF30 to me, net 25.
Sorry it turned out this way, just put it back on Ebay and sell with proper description and I
doubt that you will be hurt much if any.
