Here is my collection of Al Kaline cards "that never were." They were made with Photoshop Elements 9.

Very nice looking work. Show us some more when you complete them. (It's "BOB" Lemke.)

D'oh! Thanks for the proofread. I'll fix that when I try out the font suggestion I got from Mr. Lemke (AUPT).

Thanks for all of the kind words, everybody!

One other tip for custom card makers . . .

On cards like this, the white border should match the whitest part of the photo. In this case, Kaline's shoulder. On a real vintage card, the border wouldn't age if the photo didn't as well.

Nice tip! I've updated the image with a modified border to better match the card. Thanks again!
  • I updated the OP with a custom 1975 Topps Al Kaline to go with the Bowman Rookie. Hopefully, I didn't spell anything wrong this time. image
  • Updated the OP with 1 custom fantasy card of a 1954 Red Heart for Al Kaline.

These cards make me sad because they're not real. image

Super 75!!!! Awesome looking card...if only. image

p.s. The stats are wack on the back of the 75 Kaline. You have ABs for Games (i think)?

    Great looking Kalines.

Two quick questions. Are those cracked cases and did you create PSA labels?
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
  • Thanks for the compliments!

Wow. I really need to proofread better. I fixed the OP with a "corrected" version.

    << <i>Great looking Kalines.

It's all photoshopped. I took scans of PSA graded cards, digitally edited the labels, and cropped in my images in of the virtual cards. I haven't actually printed any of this out. They only exist in my computer. I only edited them into the PSA holders because I thought it would give them a more real look. It looks like it worked!
  • Love the 54 Red Heart. I will have to do a Robinson.

  • On the Red Heart, you misspelled "Throws" and should it be all caps like the other stats?

  • << <i>On the Red Heart, you misspelled "Throws" and should it be all caps like the other stats? >>

That makes it a hat trick. Three cards, three errors. It's fixed now. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

BTW, Your Jackie Robinson fansite/Facebook is one of the slcikest looking fansites/pages I've ever seen.

I don't know if that's a good thing or not. Please don't share your secrets with others since some people don't have the best intentions, ya know...

Unfortunately, I am aware. I make it a point to never bid on cards that have the edges cropped off (as an example).

I've updated the OP with an Al Kaline 1954 Dan-Dee card. That'll probably do it for Al Kaline fantasy cards unless I find some awesome photos some time.
