50th anniversary of Strat-O-Matic baseball

I really need to add this to my collecting goals - vintage card sets from my younger days.

Took the words right out of my mouth!
I never got into the board game - that was my father's domain. He'd been playing BBW since it came out in the early 90s for a few years when I finally decided to have him teach it to me around 1994 or so.
The simplistic, hidden nature of the computer game makes it hard to understand the game engine for someone who has never seen it before, so to teach it to me, we went straight to his old boards. I was only about 15 at the time and very impatient, so I found it a bit tedious to look up every play result after each dice roll, and it took us about 40 minutes to get through six innings. He tried to move things along because he knew the results of each roll without looking them up, but despite my impatience, I wanted to learn it right and insisted on looking everything up. Even though I knew I wouldn't be playing the board game very much, it didn't take me long to realize what a great game it is. I've been playing the computer game ever since. I'm in three leagues (commissioner of one) and I love it.

APBA's a great game. Started playing at the age of 9.
<< <i>That would be a cool goal. I played the game with my father as a kid, and loved it. He has all of the old hall of famer cards, the card of the 1941 Ted Willams season was my favorite. Do they still produce strato cards for old time players, or would you have to search for them on ebay ? >>
Their website says they still sell the HOF game, so that probably would get you what you want.
BTW, I was never a die-hard Strat guy. At one time, my group of friends played both it and ABPA regularly. Odd, I know.
