Look what my brother and I made 35 years ago...

I just went to my brother's house today and this was hanging in his garage...

And then about 20 years ago, I tried to salvage the Seaver...

That's classic Dave ... Imagine your face if there was a '67 Seaver and '68 Ryan on there? LOL

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I'd imagine it would be a feeling similar to what he experiences when he thinks about the No-Hitters pitched by Seaver, Ryan, Gooden, and Cone for teams other than the Mets!
  • Hey, we got 36 ONE-no-no's!

"The franchise that has been in the majors the longest without pitching a no-hitter is the New York Mets, who began play in 1962. As of the end of the 2010 season (the Mets' 49th), the franchise had gone 7,806 regular season games and 74 postseason games with no no-no. [17] Mets' pitchers, however, have thrown 36 one-hitters." - Wikipedia

Can I change my screen name to The Ghost of Jimmy Qualls? image
  • >>Can I change my screen name to The Ghost of Jimmy Qualls?>>

    If I don't know, now I know...

"James Robert Qualls is remembered specifically for a game on July 9, 1969, when he knocked a base hit in the ninth inning and broke up Tom Seaver's bid for a perfect game, disappointing the Shea Stadium crowd." - Wikipedia
  • Ah, the Age of Innocence! Gotta love it!

This is one of my sentimental favorites from my first year of buying cards. My cousin and I included it in every trade we made because we thought it was THE ugliest card of the year. Today it's one of the harder cards to find in high grade. I wonder why... image

Thanks for posting that, Muggyman. You guys took some care with getting them in straight rows!

It's cool to see Dean Chance in the corner. I drank a lot of beer with his son.
