1834 Capped Bust Dime, Tri-Cud reverse. This is a very popular and somewhat difficult to locate late die state of the JR-6 die marriage.
The coin is a nice, problem-free, VG-8. On all lower-grade specimens of this die marriage in this die state the left reverse rim wears into
the letters, and thus does not take away from the actual grade of the coin. This is one of the latest die states of this die marriage I
have seen, with a die crack extending through the leaves and into the left wing of the eagle. Very neat coin.
Asking: $100
1819 B-1 (R5). Fully VG-10. This is a nice example of a rarer die marriage, in the large-size capped bust quarter series. Color is a very nice
grey-brown with lighter relief and slightly darker fields. The only distracting element about this coin is the dark "dot" on the obverse below
star 7 (it's not active PVC).
Price: $300
1821 B-4 (R3). Nice F+ coin. Nice amount of detail with light grey surfaces on each side. My crappy dino-lite image doesn't show how nice
this coin looks in hand and the reflection on each side is from the dino-lite light.
Price: $230
1828 B-1 (R1). Fully F-15 (although I purchased it as a VF-20). It took me a LONG time (about 2 years) to find a nice, crusty, circ-cam-like
appearing 1828 Bust Quarter, and this coin fits that bill fully. Details are all quite bold. The fields, when tilted, have a purple-blue tone.
Price: $325
1831 B3 (R5). VF-20 as per the PCGS photograde. This is a rare die marriage for the reduced diameter capped bust quarter series. Color is
a medium-dark gray throughout with no real issues to speak of. Details are quite bold, and for an R5 variety as this, this coin is definitely a
keeper! Considering another R5 1831 Quarter in VG just sold for >$1,600, this coin should be a bargain!
Price: $400
1834 B-1 (R1), the ever popular O/F in OF variety! Fully VF-30-35. This is a very nice dark grey-brown crusty CBQ with all the hallmarks for a
mid-grade set. If I were continuing with this series I would strive for all coins with this appearance - absolutely original with very nice, bold, details.
