New Trivia Question with Prize

I am going to try this again. My last question, "Who's last game pitched in MLB was a complete game win without a K" was challenged and beaten by some great trivia experts. I thought it was Babe Ruth, but I was proven wrong - it was Don Wilson.
Well, here we go. The first person to name the player will win a spectacular prize picked especially for him.
What former MLB player who is eligible for the Hall of Fame (no Pete Rose or Joe Jackson) was selected to be on the All Star team for the most years?
Rephrased: Who holds the records for most years an All Star who is not in the Hall of Fame but is eligible?

Not eligible because it hasn't been 5 years since his last season.

Expetive Delete!!! Larklin did have 12 also. Oh, well, two more prizes out. A player must have been retired 5 years to be eligible for HOF voting. I am failing misearabley in my questions. Poopie.

I will work on my questions. Perhaps I must get very very specific

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

It is getting very difficult to find a question that can't be googled or B-R looked up in a matter of seconds.
the following is NOT a forgone conclusion:
Five years after retirement, any player with 10 years of major league experience who passes a screening committee (which removes from consideration players of clearly lesser qualification) is eligible to be elected by BBWAA members with 10 years' membership or more. no player is eligable until this process is complete.
Eddie Murray - 8
Go figure.
<< <i>I have to call you on this as well, sir.

I am missing your point.....would you please elaborate?

Nam,
Eddie Murray?
edited to say: OK, you are questioning Bill Freehan having more AS years than Murray..I get it now. Freehan was a helluva player back in the day. Is kinda weird, though.

That's the spirit!

The problem is that we're not doing it face to face. The urge to look something up on the internet is symptomatic of asking trivia on the internet. The flip side is that so much information is out there, and if you look hard enough, you can probably find some obscure piece of information that's only posted in an obscure location on the internet, thus making it more of a true competition.
Thanks Wondo (John)!!!!
