1886 Morgan Newp!

I purchased this beauty from Russ's auctions last Sunday.
I love the coin and the old white slab...

Edited to add the drag on the cheek is not nearly as deep or distracting as the photo would suggest.
Same with the tiny fingerprint on the reverse left wingtip. Very minor when viewing in hand.

I think she looks beautiful, right where she is, right in that slab, although I think she's an upgrade candidate, today, as well. I think she's clean enough and strong enough to go MS65 money. If there's any doubt, I think that tarnish makes her a cinch for that. What I like about that is, it's there, but in a pleasant, unobtrusive way, that doesn't tear one's mind off the coin's technical attributes.

Nice going on that one, that's a real nice one.

Possibly a 65 by today's standards. The reverse certainly warrants that grade.
I wouldn't dream of cracking the coin out. The slab itself is a bit of numismatic history.
I believe this is the next generation immediately following the super scarce black NGC slabs.

Actually your's is an NGC 2.0....the NGC 2.1 with the gold embossed logo stamped into the white insert came before yours and then the black slab was the 1.0. The 2.0's are getting harder to find and certainly command premiums but the 2.1's are much more scarce and they get get down right pricey compared to all but the Black slabs and PCGS doileys.
