Yet another request for grading opinions

After a whole bunch of Ebay drama, I just got this "MINT and FLAWLESS" card today. Don't worry, even after all the silly seller drama (designed to cancel the deal) I got it for a good price.

It only books for $15 in 8, but the back scares me a bit as far as it landing in an 8 holder. A bit noisy, plus the lower left shows wear only on the back. No doubt the result of the naked trip in a top loader and a PWE.

  • Centering on the back is around 85/15 so it should be fine there. A slight touch on one corner is allowed for an 8, so it probably has a shot.

There's a slight tilt on both the front and back, and I'd be more concerned about T/B centering on the left side of the front of the card. It technically meets all the requirements for an 8, but not by much.

Send it in and hope the grader got lucky the night before he sees it.

It has a shot but I feel it will come back a 7. Good luck though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking 7 too, so it probably goes in the raw set. Amazing how having an auction that went for only $.99 goes hand in hand with me somehow getting an ExMt 1979 Seaver instead on the first try. I stood my ground instead of going the refund route, and here's my present. It only cost $.99 plus $3.99 for Priority shipping (that's spelled PWE for those following along), and was the only key card the seller had listed that seemed not to arrive without issue. Imagine that!

Imagine that is right. Better luck next time. It is still a nice card. Good luck in your hunt down the road! image

It matters not what we say or think, it does matter what the grader thinks. If it doesn't reach your desired grade, you wouldn't be the first to crack, crack, crack out again till it either reaches your goal or you run out of steam.
  • Since you got it for under $5, isn't it worth another $5 to at least take a shot at getting the grade you want?

7 or 8. It depends on whether you get the hard on grader I've been getting recently. Good luck!

On a good day I think it would have a slim chance at an 8 (corner looks softer than some 8s I have sent in), but 7 or 7.5 is well warranted.

Thanks everyone for basically confirming my thoughts - a weak shot at an 8, but a solid 7.

  • PSA 7

I wouldn't bother subbing it unless you want the card in a 7 holder.

I think the one corner is a little to soft to make it into a NM-MT holder imo.

    Either way GL

Again, thanks all for the feedback. In hindsight, I think I was posting more as a confirmation before I added a "and the card was way overgraded too!!!" phrase on my feedback regarding this clusterF of a sale.

  • PSA 7 or PSA 7.5 on a good day rough cut & touched corner will keep this out of an 8 holder. jmho
