With the info supplied, it's not possible to be sure.

How much feedback does the bidder in question have?

looks obvious to me. I'd report it and let ebay sort it out. They can see things that you and I are not privy to.

If this would have been in place about 8 years ago, people would have thought I was a shill bidder (I used to bid on sellers of mint/proof sets and SAEs and, once I found an honest seller, I kept bidding on their stuff, even if I didn't win...since these were common items, they would generally have more of the same).

So, not everything is a shill with numbers like that (I am sure some folks that bid on Russ' of MrD's items likely have similar stats and I doubt they are shills.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

There's a guy who buys from me who has a feedback rating around 200. He's received over 2000 feedback comments. There have been times when his bidding on my auctions showed 100%. He has paid for every item he has ever won.

Sometimes, things aren't as obvious as they might appear to be.

  • It would be good if ebay introduced a scheme along the lines of ebucks that takes into account a members bidding activity. It would boost sales and make for livlier auctions.

Does he have alot of bid retractions ?,that is what i look for if i think an auction is being shilled-I also buy alot from the same sellers if i can find enough good deals from them and they have what i want, but after about 5-6 transactions i usually just buy from them off of ebay so we both do better in the price dept.-image

then he probably is not a shill bidder ,but a repeat customer? who knows it is really hard ,even for ebay,to catch a guy who is bidding on a friends auctions, especially if the seller and bidder live 1000 miles from each other-I sometimes report what i think may be an obvious shill bidded auction to ebay and then watch the auction with no cancellations from customer support-honestly i don't think ebay cares because the more the item sells for the more money they make-Ebay is like Wal-mart only a money game to them-sad but true-image
