Updated scans/condition, Will it crossover to PSA? Opinions on '54 Topps Hank Aaron

Aside from the actual grade or holder i'd like second opinions on this 1954 Topps Aaron.
I am a fan of rough factory cuts from the 50's Topps era and this one stands out for me.

Would this cross over well in PSA?
Would I be crazy to pay a $200 premium for this?

I am looking to the experienced since I am fairly new in the '54 Topps Aaron market with only VCP to reference.

That card has a funky corner Martin.....look at bottom left front....
  • The print line that is often found by Aaron's ear on the right side of the card is not present in this example...not sure if that plus the rough cut is worth an extra $200, but that's your call to make. Best of luck either way!

The lower left corner could kill the card's value otherwise I would go for it.Because of that I have to call it a 5 at best. That cprner looks more like heavy ware than rough cut to me.

    Looks like a SGC 80 - probably a PSA 6

This is rated a PSA '6'....notice the upper right corner. It is NOT square.....it is weird...still pulled a '6'....

The raw card with the 'funky' corner may be part of the rough cut and thus may not hurt the grade.

I like it. The corner though does bother me. Looks like it was 'rounded' from a hit of some sort.

    Hopefully I'm wrong.

    Good for you.

Martin, I like the card personally. It really has nice appeal and is free of the typical print dots, and the printing line typically found with the Aaron RC. The rough cut doesnt bother me at all, as to me its part of the character associated with the Aaron RC. I to would like to know a little more about the bottom left corner before I made a purchase. As for the $200 premium.....What are you basing the premium on? Against VCP average? If that is the case, I would throw that away. VCP is only a guide, and its not the bible. There are many transactions that are made with this card that VCP never picks up. You very well might not being paying a premium at all. I would pay what your comfortable in paying for a card like this, and not worry about where it ranks against what others have paid for similar cards. Hope that helps.

Here are updated close up scans, If cross overed to PSA will it run a risk of a qualifier of some sort, will it risk not being graded by PSA?
There is some paper loss in the lower left corner however it would not stop me from purchasing it, my only concerns at this point is whether it will cleanly crossover to PSA in a direct crossover submission.

I don't think there is a risk of it not being graded by PSA; that being said it might risk a lower grade or qual. From my point of view, I like the way it looks in the SGC holder. JMO

Ah yes....the crossover scenerio. The answer to the question is....There is no answer. Crossovers are few and far between. Not sure why the crossover service exists.

My opinion of the card is this: everyone has viewed this card on a number of occasions/////The question is "Can you live with the corner". If I remember correctly the price was also very high. I could not be happy with that corner--It also just appears odd. It's rough cut but appears to go way in at that corner.

    What qualifier could it get?
