Arnie Margolis,(Error Trends Coin Magazine)UPDATE

FredWeinbergFredWeinberg Posts: 5,714 ✭✭✭✭✭
Arnold Margolis, "Arnie", has been in the hospital for the past
three weeks. Although he is fine right now (he's bored, tired, etc.),
he asked me to put out this message to his subscribers/collectors:

If you've sent Arnie a letter, an email, a package, left a phone message,
in the past three weeks, he has not responded due to being in the
hospital - and, it'll be another few weeks until he probably can respond.

If you know of anyone who might have tried to communicate with him
as above, please let them know his situation, and that it might take
some time for him to get to all of the messages/packages, etc.

He's going to be in the hospital at least another week........

Thanks for your understanding, and for passing this info on to any
interested parties......

Send him my best wishes for a full recovery, Fred.

I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

I wish him the best no matter his situation. I've had many dealings with him but nothing recent just because I've been backing off on the hobbie. Arnie is a fair and knowing person I wish him the best. Is there any more you can tell us or is this, as many people a private matter?

    Just an update -

Arnie is still not able to reply to letters, emails,
    packages, phone calls, etc.

He's out of the hospital, but is in recovery.

Error Trends Coin Magazine has been suspended
for the immediate future - no issues will be printed
    for at least many months.......

I was thinking about Arnie the other day, I came across a pile of old ETCMs in the basement. I certainly hope someone can update this old thread with some good news.

    Sean,

I was going to call Arnie, and/or his son today,
so I'll post an update in a few hours......

I just got off the phone with Arnie Margolis,
the Publisher of Error Trends Coin Magazine.

Arnie had a stroke months ago, and he's now
at home.....he sounds good, 'off' just a bit.

As mentioned in the OP, ETCM is suspended,
and no further issues will be published.

Arnie always set up next to me at the FUN
show each January, and I'll miss his humor,
his stories, and his 'being Arnie'.....

But he seems to be OK, under the circumstances.....
