Shipping Question for Coins
I recently sold a bunch of IKE Blue Packs that were listed with "Free Shipping".
No problem there.
The same fella bought a roll of IKE's with $5.50 shipping.
Do I charge for the $5.50 shipping on the mass invoice? What repercussions could evolve since "free shipping" items and "chargeable shipping" items are on the same invoice?
BTW, shipping will be more than the $5.50.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I would be a happier buyer if you gave a discount of a buck or two because you are saving money by combining the shipment. You probably pay a buck or two to ship the Ike Blue Packs right?
Any way you look at it, it is only a couple bucks. But this is from someone that does not make a living on sales.
I would say "thanks for buying multipes. Shipping will remain the $5.50 (for the roll of ikes) since the others were free shipping anyways. What I plan to do is to use a flat rate box and wanted you to know that I will package them all together and make sure things are well packed. I always like to communicate prior to shipment, in case there are any questions. Best regards"
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>Communications upfront are essential.

<< <i>As a buyer I would expect to pay the stated $5.50.

Im intriqed , how is the seller saving money?

I imagine the idea is that the seller is saving money by shipping one package vs. two. On the other hand, if you're getting charged exactly as the two listings say you will, I don't see why there would be any complaint. Being that this is eBay though, I'm sure somebody somewhere would find fault.

I agree , as a buyer i'd be aware of shipping before i bid. An argument for not giving out free shipping so when they do get a discount they can feel like it was a better deal.

Well, I invoiced the buyer and included the $5.50 for the roll and she promptly paid.
The package included 12 blue packs and a single (1 lb) roll of Ikes.
Normally, I'd package in a single Small Flat Rate box but that would not hold everything comfortably.
The next size up (9x6x2) Came to over $16 with signature confirmation and Insurance. Total weight was 2 lb 6 oz.
Moving up to a Medium Flat Rate box cost $15.20. (I still can't figure this out. Bigger package/cheaper rates)
The IKEs normally cost me $1.56 to ship individually which would come to $18.72 excluding mailer and label costs.
The IKE Roll costs $5.00 excluding tape, labels and peanuts.
Given the overhead with shipping supplies (peanuts ain't cheap), I may have broke even on this one.
Thanks for the replies and you'll certainly hear me squawk if something goes amiss. My biggest concern is with eBay/Paypal interface and the screwy way's they do things.
