1986 Star Michael Jordan Best of the New question

PSA won't grade these. Were reproductions made or were they distributed more than once or what? Also, when I see one advertised, it says "Best of the New/Old." What does that mean? Also, they apparently don't have much value according to recent auctions on eBay.

Best of the new was a 4 card set...Ewing, Ralph Sampson, Jordan? 1 more. Best of the old was yellow border, it had Kareem. They were suppose to be limited to 440 each? I remember when the best of the best set sold for $1,000. And best of the new was almost the holy grail. This is when the Jordan XRC #101 rookie was $3 or $5 k. Then the best of the new were heavily reprinted, or allegedly.

I think there was a sheet with the 86 bulls team and best of the best, best of the new that was reprinted. Or questionable. That's why they've plummeted. Its probably one of the most questionable, suspect Star cards out there. They're probably gone down by 90%, never to go back up again. I think the best of the new was one of the last original star sets made. I don't know if the quality (print dots, color, card stock, etc) was as good as the original 84-86 cards. There was something about them that made them very suspect.

At one time PSA did grade these cards.
I believe they stopped because they couldn't get reliable production numbers from star co.
As far as I know nobody is really sure just happened and what all was faked or not. The original star cards are actually sought after by BK collectors.
I think there was less fakes made of these. Some still get decent $

I have a few original star cards that csa graded. I have had them for probably 20 years...long before the fakes came into play.
I consider them some of my very best BK cards.
