1982 Wrestling All Stars BGS 9.5 Hulk Hogan.....

BGS 9.5 Hulk Hogan
This is going to get wild! This is the first to surface and is from a great seller. I am not going after this one and it is anyone's guess how much it does go for.

WTB: PSA 1 - PSA 3 Centered, High Eye Appeal 1950's Mantle
The Hogan card is a tougher card to find and much more popular at this point. I would suspect the Flair heats up over the next few days.
I think people like the PSA graded cards more and they generally sell stronger then the BGS graded examples.
This Hogan is in the sweet spot as it is a great looking card and there has never been another one surface for sale.

The last sealed 1982 A that sold on EBAY went for $1,461 so if there are a lot of them out there they would have shown up by now with a sale price like that.
The yellow cards which include Andre The Giant, Hulk Hogan and Mil Mascaras are three of the toughest cards to find in high grade. The same holds true for the 1982 B set with Rick Martel, Tony Garea, and Bob Roop.
Here is what the Martel card looks like. This is my PSA 9 and it is definately one of my favorite cards. It is a pop 1 right now and that may change a little but not much and you won't see a PSA 10 ever.
<< <i>These came shrink wrapped from the factory and many have corner damage becuase of it. >>
oh yeah that was it, i couldn't remember he sent me scans a few weeks ago asking if I was interested...
The 82A is by far the set with the most star power and the 82B with Rick Martel on top is the hardest to find and the most condition sensitive.
1988 Wonderama Set
I have purchased a few from this seller. They come in great condition and there is only 500 factory sets. It was put out at the tale end of the NWA under Jim Crocket Promotions. It has many stars in it and Sting's rookie card. It is not very sought after and it is a great value for $40 delivered.
<< <i>1988 Wonderama. It is a big set that you can find farely cheap.

Hard to believe there are only 500 sets produced and they sell for $40.00. How many of the '82 sets were produced?

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
The Hogan BGS 9.5 will be very fun to watch to see where it will end. I would love to see the signed PSA/DNA Hogan that is a 9 make it's way on the marketplace.
Looking to BUY n332 1889 SF Hess cards and high grade cards from 19th century especially. "Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy" Dan Gable
What makes the Wrestling All Stars so appealing is they were mail order only and no packs were ever sold. In early 1982 the Wrestling business was really not that hot and card collecting was not any where near as big. The packaging of the cards really impacted the condition. No one really knows what the true print run was but is definately less then 2000. Some have speculated it is 100 sets but I don't believe that as I have 21 Andre The Giant cards and I highly doubt I have 21% of them. The star power and overall appeal of the cards is miles apart.
The Wonderama cards used to sell for $150 but this seller has been selling a good number of factory sets and has really taken down the price. I think the fact that the Wrestling All Stars are all biographical portraits and there are only 36 cards helps as well. The Wonderama set is loaded with bums and the card stock is not very nice and neither are the photos. The NWA was really falling apart at the time and the quality of the production is just not that great.
There is no telling what the PSA 9 auto of Hogan would sell for. That would comand huge money especially if the auto is nicely done on the card.
<< <i>How the heck did the Hulk card get a 9.5 for centering, the top/bottom centering looks way off....almost miscut on the bottom. >>
Does the bottom of that slab look odd to anyone else???
Working on the following: 1970 Baseball PSA, 1970-1976 Raw, World Series Subsets PSA, 1969 Expansion Teams PSA, Fleer World Series Sets, Texas Rangers Topps Run 1972-1989

No. Look at the top too. It's some kind of reflection of the sleeve inside the slab.
Beckett grades these different for top to bottom centering then PSA. The yellow cards you will never find with as good of centering as the blue cards that is why there are more Ric Flair cards and Iron Sheik cards in high grade.
Trust me when I say this is a really nice card. The colors are super vibrant, razor sharp corners, no print dot next to the head, and great side to side centering.
This will end up the hands of a non traditional wrestling collector is my bet.
Order form to get the cards from 1982
Hogan photo from 1983 cover
Orginal photo from 1981. All of the cards are photo's taken from the magazine. This is the actual photo of the Hogan card. He was a beast at this point!
