My 1980-81 Bird/Magic PSA 9 Pick-Up!

Picked this up from fellow board member ThunderDan last week, after a week of haggling. This was a gift to myself, as I had just gotten my incentive check for 2010. I love this card, and frankly have regretted selling my last 9, since the day I did it. This one is MUCH nicer than the first one I had, including much better centering. Hope you all enjoy.

Edit to add: I guess I need to clean my scanner, Magic has some dust on him!

That is spectacular. I am envious! I have a PSA 8, and cannot seem to pull the trigger on a nice 9.

People will laugh but I could see that bumping to a 10. No ink smudges, no little black marks on the bottom border, perfect corners and 55/45 TB centering could = a PSA 10.

Not laughing. I think it's worth 2-3 tries still in the holder (do not crack). Why not take a $25 shot at turning a $700 card into a $3000 one?

I think Dan has tried at least one time to get this card into a PSA 10 holder. I think they said something about a print dot on the Bird. I dont see it. There is a tiny amount of chipping on the left border thats hidden in this scan because the card is resting against the border. I didn't purchase the card in hopes of getting a bump. Maybe one day, I will give it a try if the timing is right.

Nice Card, Matt! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I had it reviewed once and Joe said something about minor print imperfection. If it were to be cracked/submitted a few times, I think there's a decent shot it could land a 10.

We do sometimes laugh at your funny posts but I agree that has a decent shot at the bump. Probably better luck cracking. Very nice card.

That's card I wish I could get back. Sold mine for $110 back in '93. I am confident that it would graded at least a 9 or higher.

Matt, gorgeous card !! I remember buying boxes of those from a friend of mine who owned a tobacco store.. I paid 7.25 per box and got like 20 of those rookies but none..none..looked anything like yours....enjoy....ivan
