PSA gave 2 of my cards the same cert

I just noticed this. I had sent in several of the same card a couple years ago. The first two came back with the same cert. One should have been 14910377. Never had that happen before. I guess I will keep it like this because if I send it back in they will probably put it in one of the giant slabs.

At least they are of the same player and the exact same variety and grade.
I'd probably keep it the way they are.
  • Wow, this is completely unacceptable! Does anybody else have other examples of this? Im sure there are more examples but the optimistic side of me hopes not.

If you ever plan to move those to another collector, ya might want to think about changing them. If two collectors attempt to add them to a registry set (not that I expect it to happen for Freddy Sanchez) it is going to create a real mess for two unsuspecting collectors.

I admire their consistency of grading.

Why would they even print two of the same flips? Seems that there should be some safeguards in place to keep two flips with the same # from even being printed without an overide.

I love all the PSA bashers that look for any reason to point out mistakes but never point out the good things they've done. Yes, this shouldn't have happened. But name a company or person that hasn't done something wrong (other than me, of course. image). When you grade thousands of cards a year something like this is bound to happen. It's a mistake and is not the end of the world.

  • Mistakes happen
PSA is still the best in the business.
I've been real lucky and never had a problem with PSA
I had another great experience with them at the Baltimore National several months ago.
I do agree that they should have some measure in place to prevent this kind of error.

I was contacted by PSA and am sending the card in for correction. This submission was from 2008 and I just noticed it. I agree with the others that mistakes do happen and PSA is the best.
