1887 Enameled British Crown Pin. A very interesting item, this coin was planed off on the reverse and the details carved incuse, and then porcelain enamel was applied creating the design. An exceptionally well done piece with excellent detail. Overall in nice condition, some of the enamel has flaked off along the edge, and the torso of the rider has flaked off as well. A very neat piece.. $85 shipped. SOLD, THANKS

John, I think that you're spending more time here than at the Darkside.
Indeed a neat piece.

BTW here is an email letter I sent to Maggie's parents (our children)about the pin....
I just picked this pin up on the forum of a collector's group I belong to for eighty bucks.
It's an enameled pin depicting St. George and the dragon painted on the reverse of an 1887 Victoria Crown. I'm not sure just when it was done, but thought it
might be special to Maggie since we finally managed to get her Victoria Registry set to Number 1 in the PCGS Registry.
The scenario goes something like this:
Brenda: Hi Mags, says that's a pretty neat pin you have there.
Mags: Right, thank you.
My grandpa sent me this pin because it's an enameled piece of art depicting St. George slaying the dragon
which was done on the reverse of a Queen Victoria Crown (flips the pin) that was minted in 1887 and which, by the way, I have
a complete set of in high grade condition which is currently number 1 in the PCGS Registry..:+)
OK that was my dream scenario, fully realizing that Maggie's true response will more likely be:
Right, thank you.
If you'd like to have it, I'll swap it for...(fill in the blank) :+)
Love you all......
