Question: Photo of Babe Ruth

So, a guy tried to sell me a Babe Ruth photo the other day and I am intrigued because I have never seen one like it. Granted, I am no Babe Ruth expert, but, has anyone else ever seen one like it? Here are the details:

The Babe was not too fat - so I am thinking late 1920s - early 1930s.

He is batting and has a white uniform with a patch on the sleeve with an "I" on top of a "U".

He has on a dark hat with a white "S" on it.

Didn't he have an appearance at Syracuse University in 1928?

Was this a Hollywood movie shot? Barnstorming tour?

Perhaps it is soooo obvious that I should be embarrassed, but I just can't place the photo. Can't post a scan because I was too skeptical about the photo to purchase it.

Thanks for any info the board can provide. image

sounds like a picture of the Babe from his tour to Tokyo (after the 1934 season).....

obviously a copy of the photo would help.

  • Thanks Ironmanfan - I believe that is it. Once you said Tokyo, I was able to find the pic online. Now, the game is to see if it is Type 1 or just a xerox copy! image

I tried to attach the file. Let's see if this works.
