Dutch Cow Town - Maastricht

Not the most stunning of medals, but this one, in a primitive style, caught my attention. Interestingly, it is signed "Alard." I doubt if it is the French engraver of the mid-19th century.

Looks modern. (By that, I mean turn of the 19th/20th century, to judge by the sans serif lettering on the reverse?)

As you perhaps were suggesting, I don't find it all that appealing visually, but it is interesting and has a certain character to it.

Do you have any translation on the Dutch?
