Question about the 1964 D Peace $

Are these coins struck on real peace dollars?

If that is the case can one or two strikes completly eliminate all traces of the original coin?

Yes and yes depending upon the parent coin.

I can see traces of the original date on both mine.

Mr. Carr is very precise regarding postioning the original coins for the striking...but the remnant date will remain (on mine at least).

even after a couple of strikes, there are remnants of the old image in a few places on mine. too.

yes, one sub type is the P.L version

hey , you are either cleverly posting a thread about the 64 Fantasy Peace Dollars to keep them in the loop .............

or you have been away for some time and have missed the plethora of posts that have dissected the coins to the bone .

a search of "1964" will yield you all you could ever possibly want to know about them

nothing on my 10 either , all 5 sub types .........

the only trace of the underlying coin on any of them is some slight forehead doubling

maybe I'm just lucky - or maybe D.Carr felt pity on me because of my "condition" and sent me only primo pieces
