MLB Network could stand to upgrade some of its on-air talent...especially the anchors.

I don't mind Vasgersian, but Amsinger is god-awful...
  • The only broadcating event I have been upset about is when Vin Scully was no longer doing post season games...the biggest mistake baseball has made was not getting him, and us getting stuck with buck and mccarver all those seasons. When from the best, to pure bordome! What a shame.
Are you sure about that five minutes!?

agreed Saberman...if I'm flipping by the MLB network, and they've cut into the Dodger broadcast, I stay there until they cut away. Never understood how Dick Enberg can still call meaningful sporting events, when he gets every 5th name wrong, yet Scully hasn't been a fixture on World Series telecasts...an absolute shame. I'm almost positive ratings would be slightly higher if he were calling the games.

I swear Fox Baseball has set the sport back with their crap announcers and even worse studio host & panel.

Costas & Gammons are obviously great on whatever channel they are on. Something just seems a bit 2nd rate on MLB compared to ESPN. The Amisinger (sp?) guy bugs me so I just change the channel.

I think you mean Dick Stockton. Stockton was doing the TBS games and referring to Alfonso Soriano as "Adolpho Soriano". Enberg still has his fastball for the most part.

p.s. all the of MLB Network crew are useless aside from Plesac, Costas, Gammons, Verducci, and Rosenthal.

No, I meant Enberg. He does tennis well, but that's only because there are 2 people on the court. Watch for him in March Madness and tell me if he still has his fastball. But you're right, Stockton is awful too, maybe worse.

Overall, I think MLB has better studio analysts than ESPN. Nomar, EY, Eduardo Perez can't hold a candle to Leiter, Plesac, and Millar. Billy Ripken needs to go, though.
