    cardsnbeads

I hear that's what Navarro is into
  • I have heard Peyton Manning's autograph TTM is fake.
  • I only collect in person autos so I know they're legit, and occasionally purchased some certified autos on cards and UDA pieces for special commemorative events (ie a championship).

Question: Does PSA/DNA certify known ghost signers and autopens?

bump for a good to know thread, I understand that many celebs don't have the time or don't want to waste their time signing stuff but I would never use a autopen even if I was Gretzky, it's kind of like just send everyone a fake signature to trick them into being happy, what's the point in that?

Vlad ... I agree 100%. I HATE when a card gets sent back with an autopen, especially if you paid a decent buck for the card. I understand that some athletes don't have the time, are inundated with requests or just don't want to sign. That is their right and that is fine. Just send the card back the same way they received it. It would take less time for their people as well.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

You see the occasional post of people coming on asking about signed cards they've cherished for a long time, only to have people tell them it was a auto pen, it's sad. The auto pen was obviously created as an instrument to alleviate hassle, not hold up high ethical standards, which I believe the signer is somewhat taking credit for ...you send me a nice card and letter stating you're a fan and I return the card signed as a thank you because I'm a good guy... so phony, disappointing to see a few of those players on that list.

One more reason not to mess around with any autograph unless you get it in person yourself. Why else bother with an autograph anyway? I do not see the allure of buying something that might have been autographed by a famous person; or maybe was "autopened" or just signed by someone else altogether. To me it's in person and hopefully personalized to me or I don't bother with it.
