I think the board should have a card show.

Totally random thought that popped into my head. But there's enough people here with enough material to organize a solid regional card show. Plan it months out, find a venue, promote it online, and rock and roll.

    i have a Boogie board.
  • if it's in Vegas, there's a LOT of other things i'd rather be doing than talking with a bunch of middle-aged men about pieces of cardboard.

No problem Neil ... the invite is for people who joined the board December 2010 or earlier.

You all could come and visit me in Germany. We might not sell a lot of cards, but the beer and card conversation would be great!!

I second this. I happen to live in KC so, yeah, that's my vote. image Although I don't have any cards to sell I still think it would be a good idea.

I think there's some potential for this idea. Everyone could set up a table in their home, photograph it, and post scans. Something not quite like the BST board, just not sure what.

There are several potential ideas for a message board card show. One thread could be selling only 1971 Topps Football or Pre War cards or 1957 Topps Baseball or whatever. Maybe have a schedule of different years or whatever for every Friday and Saturday night.
Maybe start all the threads "Card Show 1975 Topps Baseball". This way, people can search past card shows easier to look for their needs.
I think this has quite a few good possibilities.

  • Totally lame disfunctional idea. What the ? The OP hopefully is retired and enjoying sending random thoughts out to the wind in order to cause churn with us minions.

I'm in though if the verdict is an online card show. (uhhh.. ebay)

    Vegas baby!

I would seriously think about going to that. I would be curious what some of you are like in real life.
  • You To Larry !
  • Someone should promote a show in Vegas. I'll go to it. I've always wanted to make out, indecent proposal style, with a naked woman on a bed covered in 87 Topps.
  • hopefully with Larry , the master.
