Why a 1995 Score Rules Jumbo Jose Canseco is so hard to find??

These oversized cards numbered to /3000 are almost impossible to find.. I know most collectors aren't into cards that aren't standard sized but as a player collector these jumbo cards drive me crazy. I have been looking for a Jose Canseco from this set for 16 years without any luck at all. if anyone knows someone who has one by all means hook me up.. I will pay a very fair price and reward or trade very heavily in someone's favor to get one. my only stipulation is it has to be NrMt-Mt.

They weren't distributed in packs, they were in special "starter collectors kits" that you got at retail locations.

I have owned the Frank Thomas, Tony Gwynn, Don Mattingly and still have the Mike Piazza.. have seen Griffey, Maddux, Lopez, Ripken for sale in the past. Never seen any of the rest of the set for sale ever. I bought a collector kit off Ebay a few years back hoping to pull the Canseco and thats when I got the Mattingly.. sold it on Ebay for more than I paid for the kit. There were about 15 kits for sale at Kruk Cards and I was considering buying but one day they all disappeared. Someone bought them all trying to hit a Fred McGriff and ended up with all Lopez and Cliff Floyds so I lucked out there. Its just crazy to think that with 3000 copies of each player these are more rare to find than 1/1's these days.

Just because the run was up to 3,000, it does not mean that 3,000 were ever necessarily printed or sold. Given that the vast vast majority of serially-numbered cards from the past two years have gone down in value [and often sit in dollar bins collecting dust] has probably relegated a large number of them to the trash. Good luck in finding an example for your collection.

I wonder if, due to their huge size [e.g. if it was 5x7 or less, perhaps more would have been kept], many tossed them. It's like trying to find a 1988 Topps Folder -- those are similarly sized, and equally scarce.

QQ: Are there two versions of this? A regular sized and a jumbo? Or are they all jumbo?

Here is a front/back scan of my Ripken. Card measures 7.5" x 10. 5"..I'm assuming PSA does not grade these?

Some of the 90s inserts are TOUGHER than heck to find...I collect football and another "Jumbo" card that is NEVER (as opposed to seldom) seen is the 1997 Studio Postcard Protraits measuring 4"x6"....Never seen a single one OF ANY PLAYER in 14 years...sellers always mislabel the base 8"x10" card as "Postcard Protraits", but other than that NO ONE I know has ever seen these!
