In your opinion when is the best time to sell?

I have come to realize that over the last few years I have bought way to many things. I want to down size my collection and maybe pay off some bills while I'm at it. The majority of the things that I will be selling are graded baseball cards and auto's. I will also be selling off some hockey things as well. Would it be better to wait till baseball season comes around or would it not matter? Same with my hockey items now that hockey is almost to mid season? Most of my cards are nothing special and probally won't get over 20 dollars a piece for, but some will.
I started a Kirby Puckett set and will be trying to sell off all his cards. A couple of them bring decent prices still, but most of them do not. Would I be better off selling the ones that don't go for alot of money in groups or just one by one?
One more thing auction or BIN? I want to sell my things, but as I have read here in the past, people just bypass BIN's. I would price these items to move.
Thanks for any help.

Best bet is to time your selling to the eBay promotions so you can list as an auction at a starting price you can live with and save on the listing fees. They just started another 2 week deal that you can list up to 100 auctions free no matter what the opening bid is.
I used these options when selling the link on my signature line and I am having success. Good luck with what ever you decide.
