Sweet Corporal Pack - Help

I have posted this on 54 already but wondered if anyone here may
know if there is a way to tell what card is in what packs ( type not player )?

The pack info is : Factory 30, District 4, NC

Any and all help welcome

Thanks Crazylegs

  • I dont know. I highly doubt it. After a quick Google search I found this. Not answering your question, but....

    A unopened pack of Factory 25 2nd Dist had a T206 card.

X-rays do work on the soft Sweet caporal packs from the 1909-1917 period. Apparently the ink used in printing had magnetic qualities. I do have a scan of a pack which shows what looks to be a card.

Maryland didn't packout cards, Virginia did.

    Craig,

I believe board member Canjond knows a lot about Tobacco packs ... Maybe a PM to him would get you an answer.

Dating a pack is not an exact science. essentially, without an overprint on the tax stamp, it is somewhat difficult to pinpoint a year. However, even if we could date the pack to an exact year, factory, etc - the chance of a baseball card (as opposed to a different type of card), would be small. I'd be happy to help you out more on dating the pack if you could post some scans of the tax stamp.

In the interim, I have a ton of info on dating cigarette packs on my website www.basebandtobacco.com. That should help you out a bit more.

If it concerns those packs on ebay, the chances of pulling even any T206 card, pics of fishes, birds, whatever, etc from those packs is practically nil, if not totally zero...and then there are the chances of pulling a baseball card? Considering that those packs don't sell for cheap - Forget about it.
