Another Fleer question...Did they produce base Fleer cards in 1998,99,00 and 01?

I am putting together the team checklists from 81-07 but i can't find any base fleer products from 98-01. Did they produce base cards then?

  • In football they produced the regular base set from 1998 to 2000, but changed the name to Fleer Tradition. Fleer Tradition was replaced in 2001 with Fleer Throwbacks. Or at least Throwbacks was an insert in the 2000 Fleer Tradition.

    No help in baseball.

I know that they made Fleer Tradition in 2000 because it is the last box of cards I ever bought.
Yeah, I uploaded that KC icon in 2001
  • I have a somewhat related question (in football), I own maybe 10 2001 Fleer Showcase Patchwork Steve Young GU Jersey Cards. Some are thin....like maybe 20 stock, and the others are like 40-50 stock...really thick in comparison. Were these released in the same packs?

If you are asking about baseball, SCD lists a base set for 1998 and 1999, at 600 cards each, but I think they are the Tradition sets. In 2000 SCD did not list a base set, but listed the Tradition set for that year alphabetically in their listings for Fleer. Same for 2001. In 2002 they list a base set and a Tradition set . In 2003 they do not list a base set, just Tradition. Same for 2004. Same for 2005. In 2006 they list a base set ( 400) and a Tradition set.

    Any clarity would be appreciated

Thanks. i will consider the tradition sets as the base sets for those years.
