What years did Fleer produce baseball cards?

I am starting the Fleer Yankee Team Set collection since i am just about finished with Upper Deck and Donruss. What years did they produce base baseball cards. I know they has a set in 1963 and started again in 1981 but when did they actually finish?

  • You will find some Yankees in the Fleer 60 & 61 Baseball greats sets as well as their Famous Feats and World series sets.

There are also Yankees like Schang in the very rare 1923 Fleer set.... including the Ruth.

1923 and 1959 ( Williams only) to 2007. From 1964 to 1980 their issues were mostly stickers and insert type sets although there were some other old timer and cartoonish issues with player likenesses, including some Yankees. The SCD Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards lists many of these issues, but not all

I agree that the 1923 set is very tough. The strip cards themselves are not hard to find, but those with a Fleer ad back ( most are blank backed) are very tough

In 1930 Fleer also made the "Whiz-Bang" Taka Flyer Discs. They are the rarest, Ive only seen 2-3 singles besides the full box auctioned on REA

No NY Yankees in set, just Hartnett, Grove, and Goslin
