Dan has confirmed there are 5 Types of this coin as per the thread in The US Coin Forum and I copied his confirmation to my question below.

<< Ok, Dan makes it offical,,,,,, 5 types of the 1964-D Peace Dollar. As I understand it they are as follows:

Type #1 = Die Pair #5 Subdued Luster Original "D" and reverse die,,,, 222 pcs struck,,,,, 200 released

Type #2 = Die Pair #5 High Luster Original "D" and reverse die,,,, 789 pcs struck,,,,, 700 released

Type #3 = Die Pair #6 Uncirculated Finish & new reverse die,,,, 542 pcs struck,,,,, 450 released

Type #4 = Die Pair #6 Proof Like Finish & new reverse die,,,, 183 pcs struck,,,,, 128 released

Type #5 = Die Pair #6 Matte Proof Finish & new reverse die,,,, 149 pcs struck,,,,, 132 released

Am I correct on this?

Yes.

I need to audit my figures one more time, and they might possibly change by a couple coins
here or there, but that is basically it.

Note that it is sometimes hard to tell the two Die-5 types apart, depending on the die state.

    I have Type 1, 3, 4 & 5 starting on ebay tonight.

    If you didn't get a chance to get them, they are all available with no reserve

    Thx, getting lots of emails to end them early.
    I have an extra Matte that I'll keep since this is my favorite of the 5.

    I also bought my dad a PL for X-mas so we still have a couple between the two of us.

    Can't wait to see what DC does next!

    They won't run the entire course....some 'ebay policeman' will report them. Last one never ran full length, so unless there was an 'offer he couldn't refuse'......some take BIG offense these are being listed in a 'real' coin category.
    I'll come up with something.

    a Die Pr.6 /Matte sold today for 300$

    die pair 5 , high luster pieces have sold for 335$ and 365$

    I have the early die #5, with the 200 mintage, It is in the flip with the insert and I still have access to my original order that says order #5290 and they stopped at #5303 I was told. What are these worth? I have noticed people selling but have not seen what there worth. I am going to offer it for sell when I figure out what to sell it for.

    with due respect ; there are many ways the selling price could have been manipulated to that very high level .

    If additional coins sell at or near that level , the possibility still exists the price is being manipulated .
