Ebay item not as described.

Do I file a case with Paypal or do I go thru ebay and email the customer and request refund?

  • You file with paypal and automatically win because that's how it works now...

Basically just file not as described and make sure you say there is something severely wrong with it, paypal will make you ship it back (if it is lower end put DC, higher end put Sig conf) and then you should get a refund.

Have you made contact with the seller expressing your concerns? Many sellers will take care of the problem if you simply make them aware of the problem. You can always file your SNAD claim if you do not get an answer you like.
  • yes contact the seller first under the new rules filing a claim is an automatic strike on the seller even if they refund your money immediately, it still counts against them. A seller would be more than willing to give your money back as long as you don't involve paypal or ebay claim system. jmho

just curious what is the item?

Give the seller the opportunity to rectify the situation. You can file a claim if the seller doesn't come through for you.
